| Astellas Foundation |
A loose rule of thumb is we consider funding projects that
ease the life of a recently transplanted patient (equipment and courses),
help with family financial needs where perhaps someone in the family has
had to pay for hotel bills and travel to be near a son or daughter in hospital
with transplant related problems, we have helped on the odd occasion where
a transplant patient has, through no fault of their own, run up household
debts because they are casual workers and there is no sick pay entitlement
etc etc. So transplant patients and not dialysis patients on the whole or
transplant patients being treated for rejection periods.
Grants are anything from £200 to £2000
We have no brochure or email address, but in essence an application needs
to be completed by a renal social worker on behalf of a patient in need.
This is sent to Sally at foundation@gb.astellas.com
and she then forwards this to the committee (4 of us) and we judge the merits
of the application and respond within 10 days. |

| The Attlee Foundation |
The Attlee Foundation was
established in 1967 to commemorate the life, work and vision of Clement
Atlee.
The charitable objects allow the trustees a great deal of flexibility
as to how they approach this task: it may be through direct services,
joint initiatives with other bodies, research or dissemination of
good practice.
The Foundations work focuses on the needs of children, young people
and people who are disadvantaged thereby reflecting Attlee’s
concern for the welfare of others. attlee.foundation@virgin.net
